LIWLIG group's sustainability work reaches new heights

Starting in 2023, we are taking it up a notch and adopting a unified, Nordic approach to our companies' sustainability efforts. Liwlig Group is growing rapidly, and to maintain our momentum in development, it is crucial that we can quickly onboard new team members and offices into the work we've already implemented, while also allocating resources to continue evolving in a more sustainable manner. As a step in our Nordic work, Josefine Mill is taking on a new role as Head of Sustainability and, together with sustainability managers in each country, will drive our sustainability efforts forward. We also have a strong sustainability team that, along with all our employees, will carry the work forward within each organization and in all our projects.

"By taking this comprehensive approach for Liwlig Group, we can gain a significantly greater momentum in our sustainability efforts. Although there is a lot of work ahead of us before we reach where we want to be, it's an incredibly exciting journey that awaits. I am incredibly proud that as an organization, we both understand the extensive transformation we all face and clearly take our responsibility by driving change internally and in collaboration with our customers and suppliers," says Josefine.

Let's start by looking back and ask Josefine what she is particularly proud of.

"Oh, there is much to be proud of in our sustainability work. 2022 was an incredible year with a significant rebound effect after two years of a pandemic. We all worked very hard and also made a significant shift in our clients' climate work in their projects. Projects and their carbon emissions are an identified area where we need to take greater responsibility. Even though we had our carbon calculator before 2022, we had not calculated the total CO2e emissions for the 1000 projects we carried out in the year. We always aim to find more climate-friendly solutions to reduce emissions, but before finding those solutions, we needed to assess emissions both on an individual project basis and as a whole. Therefore, starting this year, we calculate 100% of all our projects, and we also try to get as many of our clients as possible to offset the non-reducible emissions from the projects. We've truly reached a 'new normal' where climate work has become standard in all projects and a natural point on the agenda," says Josefine.

We conclude 2022 with 100% of projects calculated and a good understanding of emissions in the projects. In addition, we have ensured that 62.5% of the projects in 2022 have been carbon offset. (These figures apply to Eventyr AB)

2022 is over, but the plans for 2023 are ambitious. We will begin the year by focusing on our Net Impact Ratio. Simply put, it's about how we positively and negatively impact the environment, society, knowledge, and health.

"Here, we will delve into insights into our positive and negative impacts, but above all, we will examine how we can find solutions to improve our work and our touchpoints. The second aspect is that I look forward to creating new solutions and ideas with suppliers and others in the industry! In 2022, we laid a solid foundation where sustainability work is a natural part of our clients' projects, but we have also gained many insights into where we need to raise the bar and find better solutions. This work now awaits us in collaboration with our partners. I truly believe that we can transfer knowledge between different related industries and suppliers to drive the event industry forward," Josefine explains.

We look forward to working together with customers and suppliers to inspire more companies to activate their sustainability work. In 2023, we will share various aspects of our work, our collaborations, but also challenges. If you need inspiration, keep an eye out. And if you want to collaborate, please get in touch!"
